A warm welcome to my website. My name is Marc and I'd like to share with you some of my experiences and strugles I had before I powered my home with green environmental friendly energy. Today I don't need to pay for electricity anymore. How I achieved this amazing fact you may ask??? To give you an answer I want to tell you my small story:

Over time I was getting more and more angry by receiving and opening my power bill. I was going nuts regularly. I tried saving power where I could but the bill was becoming bigger and bigger. Everytime I took action to reduce my bill, like buying energy saving light bulbs, the electricity bill was still climbing. How could this happen? I saw my consumption decreasing slightly but at the same time the energy supplier increased the power costs! So in the end I was paying more and more every month.
I couldn't stand this and started to think on how to get rid of electricity bills at all. So I decided to become independent and to produce my own electricity - enough to power my whole home. I decided to green!

How to start? Of course: Do some research and decide to go for solar and wind! What else? Water power would be an good alternative. But I do not hae water nearby. Since solar photovoltaics become more and more stuck in media started with this technology. Soon I realised that commercial photovoltaic modules are way to expensive!!! The companies are making a fortune - even in this recession!! No wonder the industrie migrates more and more into China...
And what about wind energy? Wind mills are normally produced for big wind parks. These mills generat several GWp (GigWatts) - that's 1,000,000,000 Watts! You can easily power many homes with this energy. Why not go for it? The size of such wind mills is way to big. They're huge! Where to put them? How to get a licence? And even more important: What if the wind does not blow??? I cannot go solely for wind power. But wind can support my energy needs.
So I decided to first go for solar and than add some wind power to it. I also decided to build it all on my own. In fact it's not that difficult to solder some solar cells to modules, set up a small wind mill and use the energy output.

So I googled for manuals on how to build your own solar panel or solar panel diy and so on. I also checked were to get all the materials. And are solar cells really as cheap on ebay?
But what thwart me was the number of DIY guides available online. Honestly I didn't know which one is the right? What vendor will further support me if I will need some help and advice? It was a tough decision but somehow my mind got stuck wit Earth 4 Energy. It was the best decission I made on this issue and didn't get dissappointed at all!!
